高等法院

The 高等法院 is the State of Georgia’s trial court of general jurisdiction. The Constitution of the State of Georgia gives the 高等法院 exclusive original jurisdiction, except when the defendant is a juvenile, in all felony cases as well as cases involving divorce, 股本, and title to land. The 高等法院 also has exclusive jurisdiction in such matters as declaratory judgments, 人身保护令, 命令书, 现状warranto, 和禁止. With the exception of certain juvenile and probate matters, the 高等法院 also has concurrent jurisdiction with local limited jurisdiction trial courts such as the Magistrate/Civil Court, the 遗嘱检验法院, the 少年法庭, and the State Court.

The Peach 高等法院 is a part of the Macon Judicial Circuit. The Macon Judicial Circuit is comprised of Bibb, Crawford and Peach Counties. There are presently five  高等法院 法官s and one  active Senior 法官 in the Circuit.  All five sitting judges maintain their principal offices in the Bibb County Courthouse.
